Subject vessel was originally constructed in 1979, for service as a Bering Sea, commercial crab fisheries vessel. Her keel was laid down at Marine Industries Northwest shipyard in the port of Tacoma, Washington. Around 1989, subject vessel was dry docked and underwent an extensive conversion for factory stern trawling service.

A single, flush trawl deck is aft on the (02) deck level. The (01) deck level is arranged with galley/mess forward and factory room aft. The hold level is arranged with machinery spaces and the port and starboard refrigerated cargo holds.
